Gain Authentic Experiences in South Africa
The South African peninsula has a mild climate during the entire year, with the bonus of being nicely placed - making it a superb getaway from from the dank and dark European and American winters.
During this brief piece, I’m going to look at the less well known locations of the South African peninsula, places where you can escape the crowds and at the same time enjoy the lower prices that you can find in the lesser known places.
Kruger Park
Kruger is the largest wildlife park in South Africa and covers 350 km from south to north and 60 km from east to west. Kruger features 8 main gates that provide entryway to the different campsites . There is an abundance of hotels near Krugar Park so it doesn’t need to be a mammoth return trip from Durban or whatever holiday resort you’re based in.
Check out the Drakensberg Mountains
The Drakensberg Mountain Range is the highest mountain range in the South African Peninsula, going up to 3,482 meters (11,420 ft) in height. Old caves are predominant in the more easily scoured sandstone, and many have rock murals etched by the Bushmen. The Drakensberg Mountain Range has roughly 40000 works of bushman drawings and is the biggest assemblage of such artwork in the world. There is proof that the bushmen subsisted in the Drakensberg as long ago as 100,000 years ago. The Drakensberg Mountain Range is easily accessible from nearby Durban and you can get accommodation in Durban without any trouble.
KwaZulu Natal
KwaZulu Natahas has been increasingly popular with tourists - chiefly advertised as the Zulu Kingdom. It is regrettable that many tourists don’t go to this region, as many who DO come here know that it offers holidaymakers a number of experiences. For many years it has been known as the Garden Province - the name being well deserved. There should be little trouble finding guesthouses near KwaZulu.
